Complied from the ever so resourceful MLB Trade Rumors, a list of the youngest players among the major free agents this offseason with their ages in parenthesis. First up the pitchers.
- LHP Aroldis Chapman (22)
- RHP Chad Cordero (28)
- RHP Mark Prior (28)
- RHP Rich Harden (28)
- RHP Brent Myers (29)
- RHP Daniel Cabrera (29)
- LHP Mike Gosling (29)
- LHP Noah Lowery (29)
- RHP Shawn Hill (29)
Now for the position players:
- OF Jeff Fiorentino (27)
- OF/DH Rocco Baldelli (28)
- OF Willy Mo Pena (28)
- OF Joey Gathright (28)
- DH/1B/3B Hank Blalock (29)
- 3B Brian Barden (29)
The few that probably stick out the most is Chapman ($$$), Harden, Myers, and Blalock. The players coming and/or fighting nagging injuries are Prior, Cordero, Lowery, Baldelli, and Hill. The rest, Gosling, Pena, Fiorentino, and Barden are average players who had enough playing time in the Majors to make this list rather than the minor league free agent list.
From Fan Graphs, here is the K/BB ratio for Harden and Myers over their careers:

Both are risk signs. But both have a lot of upside in the #2-3 starter range.
